TaperOffBenzos

Apply to be listed

For prescribers who support slow, patient-led benzodiazepine tapers — and for patients nominating one.

How this directory is funded

Listings are free. We do not accept payment per patient, per enquiry, per booked consultation, or any other arrangement that varies with how many people contact you — not as policy preference, but because paying or receiving that kind of remuneration for treatment referrals is prohibited under federal law. If we ever sell fixed-fee sponsored placements, they will be labelled as advertising on the listing itself and will not affect the ordering of anyone else.

What we ask

Every listing answers the same five questions. We publish a short summary of your approach in your own words — these questions determine whether the listing goes up at all.

  1. What is the smallest dose reduction you are willing to prescribe, and will you write for a compounded liquid or split doses if a patient needs cuts smaller than the available tablet?
  2. If a patient asks to hold at the current dose for a month because symptoms have not settled, will you agree?
  3. Do you set a fixed end date for a taper, or is the schedule led by how the patient is tolerating it?
  4. Do you consider protracted withdrawal a real phenomenon?
  5. Under what circumstances would you stop prescribing to an established patient mid-taper?

What we publish

Your name and credentials, practice name, city and state, the states you are licensed in, whether you are accepting new patients, whether you take insurance, your website and phone number, and a two-or-three-sentence description of your tapering approach in your own words. We re-confirm each listing periodically and show the date we last did.

What disqualifies a listing

  • Fixed taper timelines that cannot be extended at the patient's request.
  • Unwillingness to prescribe below the smallest available tablet, whether by compounded liquid or another route.
  • Rapid or anaesthesia-assisted detox as a primary offering.
  • Any request to pay us for placement or for patient contacts, or to pay you for ours.

Send your application

Email us with the details below and we will come back to you. Patients nominating a prescriber: send the practice name and, if you are willing, a sentence about your experience — we contact the provider directly and never publish a patient's name.
